Unemployment in the United States

The State will introduce new measures against unemployment. The treasury will cover between 50% and 75% of business costs for an employee who has been registered with the Labor Office, Nova TV reported.

The Turkish unemployment rate of 13 percent registered in the December-February period will be a peak and will fall to around 9.5 percent by the end of 2017 and below 8 percent in 2018, Labor Minister Mehmet Müezzinoğlu has claimed.  

Close to a quarter of Turkey's youth did not have a job in January, according to data from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) that was released on April 17. 

Youth unemployment jumped 5.3 percentage points year on year in January to 24.5 percent overall, according to TÜİK.

Turkey's unemployment rate rose to 13 percent in January 2017, the highest since February 2010, official data showed on April 17. 

The rate showed a year-on-year 1.9 percent increase, according to data from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK).

Turkey's youth unemployment rate, including persons aged 15-24, was 19.9 percent with a 1.4 percentage point increase in September, showing that one in five young people were unemployed. The unemployment rate for people aged 15-64 was 11.6 percent with a 1.1 percentage point increase, official data showed on Dec. 15.

Turkey's unemployment rate rose to 11.3 percent in August year-on-year, an increase of 1.2 percentage points, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced on Nov. 15.

Unemployment dipped by 1.3% year-on-year in Bulgaria over the third quarter of 2016 compared to the same period of last year, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) has announced.

There were 229 000 unemployed persons in the third quarter of 2016. Their number went down by 50 300 compared to the period between July and September of last year.
