Doing business in Greece gets ever harder
Greece dropped three spots in the Doing Business 2017 chart issued by the World Bank on Tuesday, sliding from 58th place last year to 61st this year out of 190 countries.

Three in four young Greeks living at home, OECD says
Three out of four Greeks aged between 15 and 24 were still living at home in 2014, according to a report by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) made public this month.
The annual report, called "Society at a Glance," found that southern European countries hardest hit by the debt crisis had the highest rates of young people remaining with their parents.
Turkish unemployment rate rises to 10.7 percent in July
Turkey's quarterly jobless average increased to 10.7 percent in July from the previous 10.2 percent, data from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) showed on Oct. 17.

IOBE: Growth in 2017 not over 2 pct
Economic growth will be smaller than the government expects next year, ranging between 1.5 and 2 percent, the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) forecast on Tuesday.

Women jobseekers in Turkey hit historic high
The ratio of women participating in the labor force has hit a historic high of 36.8 percent, while the number of women applying to the Turkish Employment Organization (İŞKUR) has also increased by 47 percent, according to statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK).

Greek unemployment drops to 23.2 percent in July
Greece's jobless rate eased to 23.2 percent in July from 23.4 percent in the previous month, statistics agency ELSTAT said on Thursday.
The number of officially unemployed reached 1.12 million people.
Hardest hit were young people aged 15 to 24 years, with their jobless rate dropping to 42.7 percent from 48.6 percent in the same month a year earlier.

The world is swimming in a record $152 trillion in debt, the International Monetary Fund said on Oct. 5, even as the institution encourages some countries to spend more to boost flagging growth if they can afford it.
Greek draft budget predicts growth, lower debt, unemployment easing in 2017
Greece on Monday presented its 2017 draft budget to parliament, projecting a strong return to economic growth of 2.7 percent and pledging to meet primary surplus targets set out by terms of its international bailout.
The draft projected a decline in public debt to 174.8 percent of gross domestic product, and unemployment easing to 22.4 percent.
Bulgaria's Unemployment in August Hits Lowest Level of 7.7% Since October 2009
Unemployment in the 28 member-states of the EU stabilised for the fourth consecutive month at a 7-year low of 8.6%, while unemployment in Bulgaria hit its lowest level since October 2009, reaching 7.7%, showed Eurostat data.
