Three in four young Greeks living at home, OECD says

Three out of four Greeks aged between 15 and 24 were still living at home in 2014, according to a report by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) made public this month.

The annual report, called "Society at a Glance," found that southern European countries hardest hit by the debt crisis had the highest rates of young people remaining with their parents.

Vucic: We will invest more in southern Serbia

NIS - The Serbian government has plans to invest more in southern Serbia in the period to come to improve the state of city budgets and reduce the soaring unemployment rate in the region, PM Aleksandar Vucic said in Nis Thursday at a meeting with the heads of five southern Serbian districts and city and municipal mayors.

Greek unemployment drops to 23.2 percent in July

Greece's jobless rate eased to 23.2 percent in July from 23.4 percent in the previous month, statistics agency ELSTAT said on Thursday.

The number of officially unemployed reached 1.12 million people.

Hardest hit were young people aged 15 to 24 years, with their jobless rate dropping to 42.7 percent from 48.6 percent in the same month a year earlier.

Greek draft budget predicts growth, lower debt, unemployment easing in 2017

Greece on Monday presented its 2017 draft budget to parliament, projecting a strong return to economic growth of 2.7 percent and pledging to meet primary surplus targets set out by terms of its international bailout.

The draft projected a decline in public debt to 174.8 percent of gross domestic product, and unemployment easing to 22.4 percent.
