Israel's prime minister on Sunday floated the idea of building infrastructure projects such as a fiber optic cable linking countries in Asia and the Arabian Peninsula with Europe through Israel and Cyprus.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he's "quite confident" such an infrastructure "corridor" linking Asia to Europe through Israel and Cyprus is feasible.

Turkey and Israel have decided to continue their bid to normalize their relationship through dialogue and technical contacts, particularly in the areas of economy and trade, the two countries' foreign ministers have said, adding a new framework is agreed to be established for the future of the bilateral ties.

The Turkish leadership has intensified diplomatic efforts for steps that can be taken at the international platforms in order to reduce the tension in the region after Israeli aggression against Palestinians.

The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain established formal relations with Israel last year

In a bid to strengthen cooperation with states from the East Med to the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will on Thursday host talks with counterparts from Cyprus, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and UΑΕ.
