Saudi Arabia's aviation body said on June 13 that the closure of its airspace to flights from Qatar was within the kingdom's sovereign right to protect its citizens from any threat.

The comments were in reaction to remarks by Qatar Airways' chief executive that Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain were violating international law by shutting out Qatari flights.

Turkish exporters are ready to meet demand for food and water from Qatar, the head of Turkey's main exporting trade body told Reuters on June 7, allowing the Gulf state to stave off possible shortages after its biggest suppliers cut ties.
   

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Wednesday met with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, to whom he presented the Order of the Republic of Serbia of the Second Class for merit in development and strengthening of peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between Serbia and the UAE.

ABU DHAB - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Thursday arrived on a two-day working visit to the United Arab Emirates.

Nikolic was welcomed by Minister of State for Higher Education Ahmad Belhoul.
