Discussions with IMF mission completed

IMF board approves release of $880 million for Ukraine
The International Monetary Fund's executive board has confirmed it will disburse $880 million to Ukraine in the third phase of a $15.6 billion aid package to support the country's war-torn economy.
World Bank plans $6 billion of financial support for Egypt
The World Bank is planning to give Egypt more than $6 billion in financial assistance over the next three years to help it meet its development priorities, the Washington-based lender has announced
"Over the coming three years, the World Bank Group intends to provide more than $6 billion of support to Egypt," the development lender said in a statement.
IMF mission to begin visit to Serbia on Thursday
BELGRADE - An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission will visit to Serbia on Thursday for a third review under an arrangement Serbia has with the international financial institution, with the first meeting to be held at the National Bank of Serbia (NBS).
The IMF delegation will be headed by Mission head Donal McGettigan.

Bulgaria is gearing up to nominate Kristalina Georgieva for a second term as the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), according to Dimitar Radev, the governor of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) and the governor of the IMF for Bulgaria.
Egypt secures extra $5 billion in IMF loans
Egypt has secured an additional $5 billion in IMF loans, after the central bank hiked interest rates and allowed the pound to plunge by nearly 40 percent.
The Central Bank's decision to raise the key deposit rate to a record 27.25 percent caught the market by surprise.
The bank also committed to "allowing the exchange rate to be determined by market forces."

Mitsotakis to meet UN refugee chief
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to meet with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, on Monday at 5 p.m. at Maximos Mansion.

IMF lifts 2024 growth forecast for Türkiye
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lifted its economic growth forecast for the Turkish economy for 2024 from a previous 3 percent to 3.1 percent.
In its updated World Economic Outlook report released on Jan. 20, the IMF kept its 2025 forecast for Türkiye unchanged at 3 percent.
