The projections published on Tuesday by the International Monetary Fund confirms that the Romanian government has started from correct budgetary premises and that Romania is on the right track, but caution is still needed, especially regarding government outlays, according to Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare.

The International Monetary Fund is considering a plan to create as much as $650 billion in additional reserve assets to help developing economies cope with the pandemic, with an eye on finalising a decision next month, according to sources.

Ljubljana – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has downgraded its forecast for Slovenia’s growth in 2021 from 5.2% to 3.7%. For 2022, it forecasts 4.5% growth, Bernardin Akitoby, chief of the IMF mission for Slovenia, said on Friday. This means Slovenia’s economy would reach the pre-pandemic level next year.

The Bulgarian economy shrunk by 4.6 percent last year, and in 2021 the country expects a recovery and a new growth of up to3.6 percent. This is the conclusion of International Monetary Fund experts voiced in the framework of routine consultations.
