Beham: Women need a role in conflict resolution in Ukraine

VIENNA - Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Senior Adviser on Gender Issues, Ambassador Miroslava Beham, has said that enhancing the participation of women in conflict resolution and peace-building efforts is key to achieving security and stability in Ukraine, according to a release from the OSCE.

Nikolay Mladenov to Be Appointed UN Middle East Envoy - UN Diplomats

The United Nations Security Council has approved the appointment of Bulgarian diplomat Nikolay Mladenov as UN envoy in the Middle East.

Mladenov will replace Dutch diplomat Robert Serry, according to sources close to the matter, as cited by the The Washington Post and the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.

Mladenov has been UN envoy in Iraq since 2013.

Dacic calls upon all actors to refrain from violence

VIENNA - Ivica Dacic, the Serbian foreign minister and the current chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), has called on all actors of the continuing heavy fighting around Debaltsevo and the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in the area to refrain from violence and to immediately stop all military activities.
