Finance ministers and central bankers face a tough task coordinating action to spur global growth at G-20 meetings this week, with major economies running at different speeds and monetary policies diverging.

With discussions between the IMF [International Monetary Fund] delegation and the Romanian authorities having continued on Saturday in financial and energy fields, the Energy Minister, Andrei Gerea, only revealed the following: "Talks are going smoothly with the representatives of the International Fund, but this is all I can say for now."

Mladenov has been UN envoy in Iraq since 2013.

Greece's finance minister met a senior International Monetary Fund official in Paris over the weekend, the new Greek government said on Wednesday, its first meeting with one of the country's major creditors since taking power last month.
