Turkish Airlines signals comeback to pre-pandemic levels
Turkey's flag carrier on June 5 announced a 15-month daily flight record in Europe, indicating a strong recovery from the pre-pandemic era.
Despite the significant impact of pandemic-linked concerns on the aviation sector, Turkish Airlines operated 863 flights on June 4 alone, according to a press release.
German "Nein" for two Russian planes
"The flights of our planes on the Moscow-Berlin and Berlin-Moscow routes have been canceled, because the German authorities did not give approval," it is stated in the announcement S7, which is transmitted by TASS.
All passengers from the canceled flights will be reimbursed, the Russian company S7 confirmed.

Turkish Airlines leads European carriers in daily flights
Turkey's flag carrier Turkish Airlines ranked first in Europe in terms of the daily number of flights between Feb. 8 and Feb. 15, according to data from the European Organization for Air Navigation Safety (Eurocontrol).
Turkish Airlines operated on average 592 flights a day in the said period, while Turkey's low-cost carrier Pegasus came in third in the list at 263 flights.
Turkish Airlines temporarily suspends Israel flights
Flag carrier Turkish Airlines has temporarily suspended all flights to Israel, the airline announced on Jan. 25.
Under the suspension, there are no Turkish Airlines flights to or from Israel for the period Jan. 26 to Jan. 31, said the company on Twitter.
American Airlines to link Athens with New York as of June
Beginning June 3, American Airlines will launch a new service for the summer 2021 season from Athens to New York (JFK) on a Boeing 777-200. Flights will be available for booking beginning this Monday, January 25.
Onboard customers can choose to travel in Flagship Business, Premium Economy or Main Cabin, while WiFi and inflight entertainment will be available throughout the aircraft.
EU clears 120 million euros to support Greece's Aegean Airlines
EU regulators approved on Wednesday a state grant of 120 million euros ($146.48 million) for Greece's national carrier Aegean Airlines to help the airline with damage suffered during the coronavirus crisis.
Bulgarian Airlines Are in for Mass Bankruptcies
Financial grants compensating for part of the lost revenues would greatly support the Bulgarian airline industry. Airlines are in dire need of additional support, Svetoslav Stanulov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Association of Bulgarian Aviation Companies, told BNR. The association's members are about 80% of the Bulgarian companies and maintenance bases.

Aegean Airlines announced on Thursday that it will be expanding its services linking cities abroad with Greek regional airports in 2021, as passengers tend to avoid transfers to minimize their exposure to the coronavirus.
