COVID-19 in Bulgaria: 53 New Cases in the Last 24 hours

The new cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria are 53, 1.8% of the 3,004 tests performed are positive, according to the data of the Unified Information Portal for the past 24 hours.

One person has died with Covid-19.

There are 290 patients in hospitals with coronavirus, of which 38 are in intensive care units.

Vaccine fatigue impacting flu shots

Despite the intensity of influenza this winter, the number of people getting flu vaccinations in Greece remains at disproportionately low levels, health authorities have noted.

Tellingly, according to estimates, 3 million citizens have received the flu vaccine, a number clearly lower than in 2020-2021.

VAT exemption for Covid testing kits ends, AADE confirms

The price of Covid rapid and self-tests as well as PCR tests in pharmacies has increased, as they are now subject to a 6% VAT rate, the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has said.

In a circular, the AADE pointed out that an EU directive allowing for a temporary VAT exemption for vaccines and testing kits had expired on December 31, 2022.

COVID-19 in Bulgaria: 173 New Cases in the Last 24 hours

One hundred and seventy-three new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the last 24 hours in Bulgaria, four people died, of which 75% were not vaccinated, according to the data in the Unified Information Portal.

With this, the number of those who have lost the fight against COVID-19 reached 38,122.
