Valeri Simeonov, Bulgaria's vice-prime minister for demography and economy, announced his resignation on Friday evening following more than a month of protests by mothers of disabled children who were calling for him to stand down.

The vast majority of Bulgarians believe that Valeri Simeonov should resign in connection with the statement to mothers of children with disabilities.

The third оf protests of the parents of children with disabilities against the Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov. They insist on his resignation as soon as possible, reported bTV. 

Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov declared as inadequate the requests for his resignation in connection with the action and detained employees of the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad.

Protests demanding the resignation of Simeonov on his words to the protesting mothers of children with disabilities - ''squeaky women" with "supposedly ill children", continue for а second week. 

The State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, SABA, issued around 40 certificates a week over the past year falsely identifying foreign citizens as having Bulgarian heritage, the country's Specialised Prosecution said on Wednesday.

The opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) starts preparation for early parliamentary elections, party leader Kornelia Ninova said on 23rd of October. According to her, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov cannot control the situation in the country, reports BNT.

A coalition meeting between GERB and United Patriots is expected at the Council of Ministers today. The coalition partners will discuss the situation amid the demand by the mothers of children with disabilities for resignation of Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov and tensions within the coalition, reports Focus News Agency.
