US Congress approves funding for Elefsis Shipyards

The US Congress has approved financing through borrowing for ONEX Shipyards to carry out the consolidation plan for Elefsis Shipyards.

The US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), America's development bank, will provide the amount of $125 million.

This financing will be the first so far from DFC for Greece.

Bulgaria’s Ombudswoman Warned of a Large Number of Complaints due to the New Changes in Sofia’s Public Transport

The ombudswoman Diana Kovacheva sent a letter to the chairman of the capital municipal council, Georgi Georgiev, and to the capital mayor, Yordanka Fandakova, in which she warned about a large number of complaints related to the changed conditions for travel in public transport, which have been in force since January 1.

WADA suspends credentials of Greece’s dope-testing lab

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has suspended the accreditation of the Doping Control Laboratory at the Olympic Stadium of Athens (OAKA) for six months for failing to meet the necessary standards, the General Secretariat for Sports said Thursday.
The decision was communicated in a letter by WADA President Sir Craig Reedie that was received by Greek authorities on Tuesday.

Basescu: Multiplying gas supply sources, on agenda of European Council meeting

Romanian President Traian Basescu said on Thursday at the Henri Coanda International Airport that the need to multiply gas supply sources, as well as a possible failure of Ukraine-Russia negotiations will be on the agenda of the European Council meeting in Brussels.
