June 9 is International Archives Day. The documents stored in archival institutions are of interest not only to historians, but are essential for our entire society. That is why it is not a coincidence that today we have chosen to share with you the news about the publication of a new collection of documents about the life and work of Vasil Levski.

February 19 – Day of Commemoration for Vasil Levski

Today the Bulgarians mark the anniversary of the hanging (1873) of Vasil Levski.

Vasil Levski, born Vasil Ivanov Kunchev, was a Bulgarian revolutionary and is a national hero of Bulgaria today. Dubbed the Apostle of Freedom, Levski ideologised and strategised a revolutionary movement to liberate Bulgaria from Ottoman rule.

Sofia Will Host the European Mobility Week

The capital is hosting the European Mobility Week.

This is an annual campaign for sustainable urban mobility organized by the European Organization Secretariat with the support of the European Commission.

This year's event is dedicated to the theme of "Safe Walking and Cycling", and the motto is "Walk with us!" The initiative will last until September 22.

Bulgarians Mark 182 Years Since the Birth of Vasil Levski

Bulgaria marks the 182th anniversary of Vasil Levski's birthday. The center of the celebrations will again be Karlovo, the native town of the Apostle of Freedom.
In front of the monuments of Levski in the country wreaths and flowers will be placed. A number of different events are planned for the anniversary of the birth of Levski.
