Teacher Shortage Affecting Schools in Bulgaria Set to Deepen
AP SOFIA, Bulgaria - As Bulgarian children returned to school on Monday, 400 teaching positions remain unfilled across the country and Bulgaria's teachers' union predicts that the country's shortage of teachers will reach nearly 40,000 by 2026.
Parking in Front of the Bulgarian National Stadium Vasil Levski is Now Paid
From September 1, parking in front of the National Stadium "Vasil Levski" is paid.
The space will be managed by West Markets.
In addition to cars, bicycle and ski dealers who have been selling goods there for years have to pay rent to the municipality.
The part that becomes paid is between the stadium, "Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi" Blvd. and "Dragan Tsankov" Blvd .
New Traffic Restrictions in Downtown Sofia due to Repairs
The movement on part of the central Sofia street "GS Rakovski" will be stopped for repair. It will be partly forbidden to drive cars along Vasil Levski Blvd parallel to this street. Changes in traffic are due to the two major repairs in the center of the capital. They will also lead to a change in the urban transport routes, announced Sofia Municipality.
Small Free Libraries will Appear in Several Locations Across the Country
In the yard of Vasil Levski Primary School in Razgrad today will be opened the first "Small Free Library". The initiative is by Calvin Page, an English language teacher in Los Angeles, California, and is being co-hosted with children from the Bulgarian Hristo Botev School in Washington and students from the Razgrad School.

Half-marathon Closes Sofia's Center
Sofia's half-marathon is today. The beginning is at 9 o'clock, it starts is in front of the temple "St. Alexander Nevsky".
1 500 people have signed up for the marathon. The organizers' message is for a healthy and more active Sofia. The citizens, who will not participate in it, should bear in mind that the event usually leads to changes in the organization of the city's traffic.
