Samos hit by 4.9 temblor

The eastern Aegean island of Samos was jolted by a 4.9 magnitude quake on Saturday, as reported by the Geodynamic Institute in Athens. No injuries or damage were reported. 

The epicenter was in the sea area approximately 25 km north-northwest of Vathy, the island capital, with a focal depth estimated at around 12.9 km. 

3.7 magnitude earthquake strikes Samos

The eastern Aegean island of Samos was jolted by a 3.7 magnitude earthquake on Monday morning, as reported by the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens.

The earthquake, which occurred at 7.57 a.m., had its epicenter situated in the sea area 25 kilometers north-northwest of Vathy, the capital of the island.

A Bulgarian was found Stabbed in the center of Athens

A Bulgarian man was found dead around 05:00 a.m. this morning on Vathi Square in the Greek capital Athens, Sky TV reported, quoted by BTA.

According to the initial information from the Greek police, the 61-year-old Bulgarian man was in front of a shop on Kamaterou Street when a man with a knife appeared in front of him. He was fatally stabbed in the chest.

Samos building whose partial collapse killed two teens demolished

A building whose partial collapse resulted in the deaths of two teenagers during the 7 magnitude earthquake that rattled the eastern Aegean island of Samos on October 30 was demolished on Friday by municipal bulldozers.

The two students, Klairi and Aris, had been walking past the building in Vathi when the earthquake struck, causing a wall to collapse and crush them.
