The Bulgarian "Vazrazhdane" (Revival) party is facing internal turmoil, with recent events shedding light on fundamental divisions within the party beyond mere political disagreements.

The "Vazrazhdane" group within the Sofia Municipal Council (SMC) has disintegrated, leaving the pro-Russian party without a cohesive presence in the council.

GERB leader Boyko Borissov supported the government for "Vazrazhdane".

There were physical clashes in the plenary hall after, during a declaration from the parliamentary rostrum, Yavor Bozhankov from "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) called Kostadin Kostadinov and Tsoncho Ganev from pro-Russian party "Vazrazhdane": "soft wrists" ("meki kitki" which in Bulgarian insinuates homosexual orientation).

President Rumen Radev continues the political consultations for forming a government with the parliamentary groups in the 49th National Assembly.

"Vazrazhdane" expect to be the third political force in the new parliament. This is what Tsoncho Ganev, deputy chairman of the party said. The party will not participate in a governing coalition, as "the two leading parties want to take the country to war," according to him.

The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) and "Vazrazhdane" (Revival) will support the vote of no confidence in the government submitted by GERB. The former rulers held consultations with representatives of both parties.

Bulgarian political party "Vazrazhdane" (Revival) wants a national referendum on the introduction of the euro. The party is strongly against because "this will lead to hyperinflation and destroy the Bulgarian economy", said its leader Kostadin Kostadinov.

"Vazrazhdane - Sofia" removed the flag of Ukraine from the building of the Sofia Municipality in the capital of Bulgaria.

"We remind you that the place of each foreign flag is in the embassy, consulate or trade representation of the respective country in our Republic," the party stated.

Vazrazhdane MPs entered parliament without showing a green certificate, bTV reports. A new regime for entering parliament is in force from Monday (January 24th).
