A 29-year-old mother accused of killing her 11-month-old baby by throwing it into the icy waters of Aliakmonas River dam in Veria, northern Greece, reportedly insisted on her innocence on Tuesday.

PM postpones western Macedonia tour
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had to call off a mini-tour of western Macedonia on Saturday.
His office said the trip was canceled due to dense fog that would have prevented the prime minister's airplane from landing at Thessaloniki airport.

Police uncover illegal excavation for antiquities in northern Greece
Six people were arrested on Wednesday for conducting illegal excavations in search of antiquities under the ground floor of a listed building in the town of Veria, northern Greece.
The suspects - four Greeks, aged 68, 42, 38 and 32, and two foreign nationals, aged 33 and 31 - were collared during a raid by police at the building which is located in the town's historic quarter.
Skier killed in accident in northern Greece
A 22-year-old man died in the early hours of Thursday from injuries sustained in a skiing accident, the ANA-MPA news agency has reported.
The young man was on a late-night skiing excursion with friends at Tria-Pente Pigadia in Naoussa, northern Greece, when he apparently lost control and smashed into a tree at great speed during a downhill run.
