Argentine artists commemorate Turkish poet Aşık Veysel

Buenos Aires Yunus Emre Institute has brought together Argentine artists in a project to commemorate highly-regarded Turkish folk poet Aşık Veysel with his poems on the 50th anniversary of his death.

Within the scope of the project carried out by the institute, musicians performed the work of the great artist "Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım" with their local instruments.

The reporters were in Turkey covering the deadly earthquake that killed more than 50,000 people and left millions without homes. All three are freelancers and received official journalistic accreditation from the Turkish state.

Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Award winners announced

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced the winners of this year's Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Awards, with late Turkish folk poet Aşık Veysel being honored with the loyalty award.

The winner of the award in the field of music was Ajda Pekkan, while Yılmaz Erdoğan received the cinema award for his screenwriting and acting.
