The Czech Republic has Europe's third-largest Vietnamese diaspora, after France and Germany. In a society that has not seen the kind of large-scale immigration commonplace in western Europe, citizens and residents of Vietnamese origin, clustered around large Czech cities, make up one of the most visible minorities.

President Klaus Iohannis on Monday welcomed at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, in which context he showed this country is one of the traditional economic partners of Romania in South-East Asia and encouraged an increase in trade exchanges between Romania and Vietnam.
