Orban "asks Serbian counterpart for understanding"

Hungary's intention to build a wall along the border with Serbia "is not directed against Serbia" Hungarian PM Viktor Orban said on Wednesday in Budapest

Speaking during a joint news conference with Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic after a joint sitting of the two countries' governments, Orban said the wall would be built in order to prevent illegal crossings of the border.

PM to take part in sitting of Serbian, Hungarian governments

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will take part in a joint sitting of the governments of Serbia and Hungary in Budapest on Wednesday.

As the government's media relations office said in a release, Vucic said that he will meet Hungarian President Janos Ader and Prime Minister Viktor Orban on the occasion.

Hungary threatens to close border with Serbia

Hungary could completely close the border with Serbia to stop the influx of migrants to its territory, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has warned.

"It's not fair to send us refugees, they should be stopped in the Serbian territory," Orban told the Hungarian Public Radio Kossuth. He added that a meeting with Serbian officials is planned for early July.
