Report: 315 women murdered in 2023
A grim report has revealed that 315 women were murdered in 2023 in Türkiye, drawing attention to the persistent issue of femicide in the country.
The report titled, "2023 Femicide and Suspicious Deaths of Women," was prepared by the We Will Stop Femicide Platform women's assemblies.

Pct of Turks trusting friends declines: Survey
The rate of trust on friends has declined in Türkiye by some 12.7 percent in a year, a survey showed.
According to the survey by the company Areda, the percentage of Turks trusting their friends was 51.8. This rate was 64.5 percent in a previous survey conducted in August 2021.

The wife of the murderer of Pınar Gültekin, a 27-year-old university student who was killed in the Aegean province of Muğla last year, has been included in the high profile femicide case.
Wife killers given leniency
Two Turkish women were killed and another one was injured by men on Nov. 17, while a murderer, who had killed his partner two years ago, was given a good conduct abatement.
