A six-year-old boy is in the Razgrad hospital after being severely beaten by his stepfather.

The child was beaten a week ago in the village of Hersovo, where he lived with his mother and stepfather. The mayor reported his condition, as the boy was locked up at home so that the bruises and swelling on his body would not be noticed.

A 28-year-old man beat his girlfriend to death in Omurtag, with whom he lived on a family basis.

The crime was committed in the conditions of domestic violence in a particularly painful way for the victim and with particular cruelty, announced the prosecutor's office in Targovishte.

The case is from yesterday, and the victim is a 21-year-old woman.

Authorities on the island of Corfu have launched a legal case against a 44-year-old Roma man, subsequent to allegations by his partner that he engaged in indecent acts with her five underage children, whose ages range from nine to fourteen.

According to public broadcaster ERT, the suspect is confronted with charges of rape and multiple instances of sexual offenses involving minors.

The Bulgarian police took down a human trafficking network from Turkey through Bulgaria to Western Europe.

Five people were detained on the territory of Haskovo. The organizer of the trafficking ring, a Syrian, and four Bulgarian citizens, complicit in the criminal activity, were detained.

Sergeant jailed for child abuse

A 53-year-old police sergeant on the island of Lesvos was sentenced to 16 years in jail for repeatedly committing lewd acts against a 14-year-old girl and trying to solicit her to take part in pornography.

The court ruled that the sergeant should not be granted extenuating circumstances, but found him not guilty of rape of a minor.
