Four schools closed in Xanthi after teacher tests positive for coronavirus

Four schools in the city of Xanthi and the nearby borough of Drosero in northeastern Greece were closed for 10 days on Wednesday after a teacher who works in all four tested positive for coronavirus.

The man, who's from the village of Echinos, is currently asymptomatic and has ben instructed to remain at home. The teaching staff at the four schools will also be tested.

Romania's COVID-19 case count rises by 196 to 20,945

Another 196 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been reported in Romania since the last information, bringing the total case count to 20,945, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Wednesday. Of the people confirmed positive, 15,103 have been declared cured and discharged. As many as 150 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care.

Another five people infected with the novel coronavirus have died in Romania, bringing the total death toll to 1,360, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Wednesday. Kisic Tepavcevic: That never happens with infectious diseases

She emphasized that the epidemiological situation is much more favorable now, with the trend of a drop in the number of the infected.
"It was expected in public that the number of infected people would decrease linearly. That never happens with infectious diseases," said Kisic, who is also the deputy director of the Institute of Public Health of Serbia "Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut".
