EC: Turkey Does Not Fulfill 7 Requirements for Visa Regime Abolition

Turkey does not fulfill seven of the requirements for the abolition of the visa regime. We reckon that two of these requirements cannot be fulfilled at present, stated a spokesperson of the European Commission, cited by bTV.

The conditions for the abolition of the visa regime are conditions. When they are fulfilled, the visa regime will be abolished, added the spokesperson.

Bulgaria to Prepare Roadmap on Canadian Visa Liberalization

Bulgaria will draft a roadmap for the criteria it needs to fulfill to get visa liberalization for travels to Canada, the leaders of the two countries have agreed.

Meeding Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev has said the text will be put forward for consideration "as soon as possible", the Bulgarian Presidency quotes Plevneliev as saying.

EC proposes lifting visa requirements for citizens of Kosovo

BRUSSELS - The European Commission (EC) on Wednesday proposed that the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament lift visa requirements for citizens of Kosovo for short stays in the Schengen area.

The Commission also presented a positive assessment "confirming that Kosovo has fulfilled the requirements of its visa liberalisation roadmap," an EC statement said.

EU Proposes Visa-Free Travel to Schengen Zone for Kosovo Citizens

The European Commission has proposed to lift visa requirements for citizens of Kosovo for short-term travel to the EU's passport-free Schengen zone.

The proposal was made to the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament on together with the Commission's confirmation that Kosovo has fulfilled the requirements of its visa liberalisation roadmap.

European Commission backs visa-free travel for Turkish citizens

The European Commission recommended May 4 that Turkish citizens be added to the list of countries to be exempt from visas when entering the Schengen zone. 

As part of a Turkey-EU migrant deal reached to curb the flow of migrants into the bloc, the EU pledged visa-free travel for Turkish citizens by July on the stipulation that Turkey met all 72 required criteria.

European Commission opens way for visa liberalization for Turkey’s citizens

The European Commission is today proposing to the European Parliament and Council of the European Union to lift the visa requirements for the citizens of Turkey, under the understanding that the Turkish authorities will fulfill the outstanding benchmarks of its Visa Liberalization Roadmap.
