Ireland is still the most successful country in Eurovision history, though its glory days are long behind it. The Irish won the competition an impressive seven times between 1970 and 1996, including three years in a row in the 1990s. Their last victory was 21 years ago when Eimear Quinn was crowned the winner with the song “The Voice”.

Let's focus on positivity

Turkey always amazes me in many different ways. The public has recently been focused on the appalling suggestions made by the government about underage marriages. It ultimately backpedaled on its position but the public is still debating and protesting about it - after all, you never know, this topic might still reemerge in a bundle of laws at 1.00 a.m. one night and be passed at parliament.

Turkey to Complete Wall with Syria in 5 Months

Turkey has already built a 200-km-long wall by the border with Syria and will put up the rest within five months, a Turkish daily says.

Pro-government daily Star quotes a Turkish official familiar with the project as assuring construction will be completed by the end of February.

Expenses for the wall will be covered by Turkey alone.

Ara Güler doc finalist in Greek festival

World renowned Turkish-Armenian photographer Ara Güler's documentary film, "The Eye of Istanbul," has become a finalist at the International Thessaloniki Film Festival. 

Produced by Ümran Safter, the documentary will premiere in the U.S. and Greece in March. Recently, the documentary was also chosen as a finalist at the Washington Film Festival.
