Elections scheduled for five local assemblies
National Assembly President Maja Gojkovic has called elections for the city assembly of Zajecar and municipal assemblies of Vrbas, Odzaci, Kovin and Kosjeric.
The voting has been scheduled for April 23.

Orthodox-Catholic commission on Stepinac meets in Novi Sad
The 3rd meeting of a Orthodox-Catholic commission set up to "clarify the role and responsibility of Alojzije Stepinac during WW2" was held in Novi Sad.
The commission was formed on the initiative of Pope Francis.

Four migrants hurt as tank car explodes at railway station
Four migrants were injured early on Thursday when a stationary tank car exploded at the railway station in the town of Sid, western Serbia.
This has been confirmed by the police in nearby Sremska Mitrovica.

Former supporters' group leader, another man beaten to death
Two young men have been discovered dead in Novi Sad; the police announced on Wednesday that both died of injuries caused by blunt objects.
The police in Novi Sad are looking for the perpetrators, while the public prosecutor has qualified the killings as grave murder.

12-year-old kills homeless man by setting him on fire
The police in Novi Sad on Wednesday brought in three minors on suspicion that they intentionally set a homeless man on fire.
The victim has since died of his injuries.
