Five Serbia cities among 10 European cities of future
BELGRADE - The magazine fDi Intelligence has included 5 Serbian cities in its list of top 10 European cities and regions of the future, and it also presented officials of those cities with awards in Cannes, France.
The awards were given out to Zajecar, Zrenjanin, Sremska Mitrovica, Ruma and Vranje. They were picked out of a pool of 468 cities in Europe.
SVM prepared to take part in government
SUBOTICA - The Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) is prepared to take part in the government if the party programme presented in the election campaign is part of the programme of the next government, SVM leader Istvan Pastor said on Thursday.
He told a news conference in Subotica that Hungarians and other ethnicities will vote for the SVM at the snap parliamentary poll on Sunday.

Vojvodina receives award for investment effectiveness
CANNES/NOVI SAD - The president of the Vojvodina government Bojan Pajtic has received in Cannes, France, the award won by Vojvodina as Europe's highest-ranked mid-sized region in terms of investment cost-effectiveness, the press office of the provincial government said in a statement.
Bunjevci back SNS slate
SUBOTICA - The Bunjevac political and national organizations backed the slate of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) for early parliamentary elections on March 16, it was said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Canak: We will not allow foreigners to buy our land
RUSKI KRSTUR - The League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) is against the sale of arable land to foreigners since new land cannot be generated, LSV leader Nenad Canak has said.
At the party's pre-election rally, Canak said in Ruski Krstur on Sunday evening that the LSV will stand in the way of those who want to sell the little that is left in Vojvodina.

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and representatives of the German company Stratic discussed on Thursday the company's intentions to start production in Backa Palanka and employ 600 workers in the next three years.

Subotica Synagogue running for 'The 7 Most Endangered'
THE HAGUE/LUXEMBOURG/BELGRADE - The Subotica Synagogue made it through to the list of eleven cultural and historical monuments and sites which Europa Nostra and Institute of Europe Investment Bank included in the shortlist for the programme 'The 7 Most Endangered' for 2014.
RIK releases collective electoral list
BELGRADE - The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) released late Wednesday the collective electoral list for the March 16 parliamentary elections, which consists of 19 slates submitted by 19 parties, coalitions and citizens' groups.
The RIK held a session at midnight, which was the deadline for slates to be withdrawn if any of the submitters wished to do so.

RIK to issue collective electoral list on Wednesday
BELGRADE - The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) will issue the collective electoral list for the March 16 early parliamentary elections which will comprise slates submitted by 19 parties, coalitions and civil organisations.
The RIK session will take place on Wednesday at midnight.
Dacic urges citizens to vote carefully
ZRENJANIN - Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic has urged Serbian citizens to vote carefully in the March 16 early parliamentary elections, adding that once the elections are over, there will be "no room for regrets until the next elections".
