Authorities ordered a mass evacuation of people on Nov. 27 from an expanded danger zone around an erupting volcano on Bali that has forced the Indonesian island’s international airport to close, stranding tens of thousands of travelers.

Dozens of flights of many tourists visiting Bali Island in Indonesia are canceled because of Agung volcano, which expells smoke at a thousand meters high, the France press reports. Suffering from difficult traffic are over 2000 passengers. In the previous eruption in 1963, nearly 1,600 people died, the volcano woke up again this autumn.

Agung's volcano in Bali released ash and smoke, exacerbating fears that it could explode for the first time in more than 50 years. It has been active since August, and more than 140,000 people have been evacuated last month, Darik reported.

But officials also stressed they could not predict when it might erupt.
