Information for the organization of voting abroad for the snap parliamentary elections on March, 26 in Bulgaria will be presented in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bulgarians in 70 countries will be able to exercise their right to vote, announced BNR.

Bulgarians abroad will be able to vote in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections on March 26 in a total of 70 countries and 371 voting sections.

The number of sections was determined via a decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) taken on March 4, while Bulgarians abroad filed declarations to vote out of the country until February 28.

Turks living in the U.K. will go to polling stations early April for Turkey's April 16 referendum on constitutional changes.

Turkish citizens will be able to cast their votes in London and the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, between April 6 and 9, Turkey's consul general in London said.        

As happens before every election and referendum, a question I frequently come across is about whether the vote will be rigged. Each time I have the same answer: If you guard the voting station, nobody can cheat.
 

The opposition DJB movement has launched an initiative in the Serbian Assembly to put a no confidence motion against the government on the parliamentary agenda.

In a statement on Monday, the movement said this has been prompted by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic's decision to join the presidential race as a candidate while still serving as the head of the country's government.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has fended off claims that the vote might be contested due to the lack of electronic voting.

CEC spokesperson Aleksandar Andreev has told the Bulgarian National Radio that the development is far from being the most substantial claim one could lodge over the election.

Election authorities in Bulgaria are not to decide until Saturday on whether voting machines will be commissioned for the snap poll due in a month.

The final say is expected a day into the election campaign, after the Central Election Commission (CEC) said needed more time than the initial deadline on Friday as it was waiting for a report by a special subcommission.

The Central Election Commission must decide on Friday whether the only firm which made an offer for the delivery of machines for electronic voting fulfils the requirements.

Bulgarians who will vote in the country in the snap parliamentary elections on March 26 will be able to note their preference for a candidate for parliamentary deputy on the list of the preferred political formation but Bulgarians voting abroad will not be able to do so.

Ecuador will hold a run-off presidential election in April after a hard fought and inconclusive first round, the electoral commission said Feb. 22.

The voting is being watched closely to see if oil-producing Ecuador will become the latest leftist-run country in Latin America to shift to the right.
