Drug dealing couple netted in Athens
A man from Guinea and a woman from Moldova were arrested in Argyroupoli in southern Athens on Monday, accused of drug possession and trafficking.
According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the detainees were active in the greater Athens area.
A search of their car as well as their apartment in the district of Vyronas yielded 220 packages of cocaine weighing 729.3 grams.

Kerameus condemns school attack, case opened
Education Minister Niki Kerameus yesterday condemned the attack on Monday on a teenager by fellow pupils at a high school in Vyronas, eastern Athens.
"The Ministry of Education will be relentless toward such behavior," Kerameus said during a visit to the school. She said a team of psychologists and social workers would be sent to the school.

Education minister condemns school beating
Education Minister Niki Kerameus condemned on Thursday the beating of a 17-year-old teen by fellow students after he tried to defend his sister against bullies.
Kerameus visited the school in the Athenian neighborhood of Vyronas, where the incident took place, saying that violence has no place in schools and noting that authorities are looking into the incident.

Villagers of Ioannina City | Athens | September 22
Psychedelic folk-rock act the Villagers of Ioannina City electrifies the traditional tunes of northwestern Greece's Epirus region, creating a whole new sound. The act will perform older numbers as well as tracks from its new album, "Age of Aquarius," along with a 10-member band at the Vrachon Theater on Sunday, September 22. The show starts at 9.30 p.m.

The ultra-popular UK percussion and dance troupe STOMP will perform at the Melina Mercouri Open-Air Theater in Vyronas for two nights on September 17 and 18 before heading up to Thessaloniki for another four shows on September 21 and 22. STOMP is known for creating musical narratives using common objects including brooms and trash can lids.
Four attacks reported in less than half an hour on Athens banks, ND offices
Unknown assailants carried out a barrage of four attacks in under half an hour on banks and on offices belonging to the New Democracy party in different parts of Athens in the early hours of Monday.

Firefighters tackle blaze on Mount Hymettus near Athens
A large firefighting force was sent to tackle a blaze that broke out Wednesday in Vyronas on the slopes of Mount Hymettus, northeastern Athens.
Footage showed several houses being smothered in smoke as the fire, which was burning trees and brush, was fanned by strong winds.
Supermarket chain stores damaged in coordinated attacks around Attica
A group of unidentified individuals launched a coordinated attack against 13 stores of a supermarket chain in the region of Attica early Thursday morning, state-run news agency ANA-MPA reported.
