Dutch police fire warning shots as Covid riots hit Rotterdam

Dutch police fired warning shots, injuring at least two people, after rioters against a partial Covid lockdown torched a police car and hurled stones in Rotterdam on Nov. 19.

Chaos broke out after a protest in the port city against the coronavirus restrictions and government plans to restrict access for unvaccinated people to some venues.

Greek Coast Guard fires warning shots against migrant boat

Greece's Coast Guard said on Tuesday it had fired warning shots against a vessel which it said was carrying migrants from Turkey to Greece.

The incident took place at about 3.40 a.m. on Tuesday, when a private boat with an unspecified number of passengers attempted to sail towards the island of Rhodes.

Captain of Turkish boat shot at by Russian warship says no shots heard

The captain of a Turkish vessel that received warning shots from a Russian warship while in the Aegean Sea has said the crew did not heard any warning shots while passing the warship. He also claimed the fishing vessel had been one mile away from the warship allegedly at stand still when the fishing vessel maneuvered away.   

Turkish migrant smuggler shot dead off island of Kos [Update]


Authorities launched an investigation Tuesday after a suspected migrant smuggler from Turkey was shot dead during an operation by the Greek coast guard off the island of Kos in the southeastern Aegean.

The predawn incident occurred after the 29-year-old victim dropped off seven Syrian migrants on the island, the coast guard said in a statement.
