Police in Athens on Monday were searching the capital's main landfill in Fyli for the remains of a 52-year-old man after a 21-year-old confessed to murdering him, cutting up his body and disposing of it in the trash.
The 21-year-old man reportedly confessed on Saturday to stabbing his 52-year-old godfather to death in his sleep because the older man used to beat his mother.

Police say a baby, believed to be only a few days old, was found abandoned in a dumpster in the southewestern city of Kalamata on Wednesday morning.
Reports said the baby, which was placed inside a paper bag, was found around 6.40 a.m. by a woman who heard crying as she was about to throw garbage into the trash container. The woman immediately called the police.

Indonesia Returns Tonnes of Waste to the West
Indonesia returns 547 garbage containers to the west after finding plastic and hazardous materials in it, the Associated Press reported.
Customs spokesman Heru Pambudi said nine containers containing 135 tonnes of waste were already shipped back to Australia.
