Today before noon cloud will increase from the west and in some places in Western Bulgaria light snow will fall, in the northwest the snow will briefly mix with rain, with icy conditions.

A code yellow warning for snow and icе is in place for Vidin, Montana and Vratsa, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology's (NIMH) website. Rain and snow are forecast in the morning, and there will be conditions for frost chiefly in the mountain areas.

The lowest temperature of minus 15 degrees was measured in Knezha, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) told Focus News Agency in the mornning.

The fire service rescued a father and his one-year-old son who were trapped in their car from snow accumulated by strong wind on a rural road near Thessaloniki late Monday night.

Authorities said the snow is 70 centimetres deep in the area. A cold weather system, dubbed Tilemachos, is sweeping into Greece, bringing freezing temperatures and snowfall in most parts of the country.

The conditions for hiking in the mountains are bad, Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) announced to the Bulgarian Red Cross.
 
Ski and hiking conditions are not suitable anywhere because of the bad weather in the high mountains except Pirin. The overgrown belt is foggy, low in temperature and in most places there is a very strong wind.

Today in the morning hours cloudiness will be significant in some places, mainly in the northern and eastern parts of Bulgaria and rainfalls are expected there - conditions for icing. Before noon from the west the clouds will tear down and decrease in most areas to mostly sunny. Atmospheric pressure is and will remain higher than the average for the month.

Today the clouds will remain considerable over the eastern and mountainous regions. Light rain in some places along the coast and snow in Northeast Bulgaria and the mountains. Again moderate wind from west-northwest, sometimes strong in the Danube Plain.
