Survey: Teenage girls much more affected by internet than boys

Ljubljana – Primary and secondary school girls are much more preoccupied and negatively affected by the internet and online content than boys, shows a survey carried out by the Safe.si awareness centre. Girls are more likely to feel pressure, compare themselves with others, experience too little sleep or be affected by negative comments.

German health ministry campaign gaffe provokes reactions on social media

An online public information campaign by Germany's health ministry which depicts Greece as a child under Turkey's care prompted reactions on social media on Monday. 

A post on Twitter over the weekend about the campaign, which includes information in 16 different languages, includes a graphic depicting Turkey as a mother holding a child, Greece, by the hand.

Twitter launches emoji for EU election in May

Twitter launched on Wednesday an emoji for the European Parliament elections in May, seeking to provide a visual link to channel conversations around a vote set to affect the European Union in the coming years.
Together with Facebook and Google, Twitter has come under pressure to do more to combat disinformation about the elections.
