Wellness tourism

Crete is among the top 10 destinations that in 2023 will set the trends in adventure, nature and wellness tourism around the world, according to the Spanish magazine Hosteltur, which cited the findings of a recent survey conducted by Mabrian Technologies, a Spanish travel intelligence services provider.

Domestic tourism spending increased by 84 percent, while the number of travelers rose by 9.5 percent in the second quarter of 2022 from a year ago, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

Domestic tourists spent 19.7 billion Turkish Liras in April-June, with package tour spending rising more than 90 percent year-on-year to 1.6 billion liras.

In a bid to further develop Croatian tourism, the government has started to work on an action plan to develop medical tourism in the country.
