Brexit Fears

In the aftermath of the referendum result, most financial experts slashed their growth expectations for the UK dramatically, with many forecasting an outright contraction in GDP for two quarters - a technical recession. The immediate signs were indeed pointing to troublesome economic times ahead. The British pound tumbled against the US dollar to its lowest level since 1985.

Schaeuble attacks Tsipras: Things won’t get easier if you ask people for reforms

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble praised Spain saying it was a model for the success of macroeconomic reforms, which led Spain back to growth.

“This wasn’t an easy path,” said Schaeuble during the German-Spanish business conference held in Berlin, where Spanish Luis de Guindos also participated.

Europe’s richest prince

His name is Joseph Wenzel, he is 19 and an eligible bachelor. He is the richest prince in Europe, and unmarried.

 

According to German newspaper “Bild”, the 19 year-old’s fortune is estimated at 7 billion Euros. The Prince and his family own “LGT” bank, real estate and palaces in Austria.

Swiss Reject Proposed Immigration Cap, Partial Results Suggest

Swiss voters appear to have overwhelmingly rejected a proposal to sharply cut immigration growth.

According to partial results from most of Switzerland's 26 cantons, about 74% of voters have voted "No" in the referendum forced by the country's Ecopop movement which seeks to link environment protection with control over population growth.
