Turkey’s wetlands in danger due to illegal waste disposal
Turkey's wetlands, home to hundreds of species and protected by the Ramsar Convention, are in danger of extinction due to the illegal dumping of waste collected from excavation sites into wetlands, according to environmental experts.
Treatment plant helps clean Lake Uluabat
Water pollution in Lake Uluabat in the northwestern province of Bursa, one of the 14 wetlands in Turkey mentioned in the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat (RAMSAR), has started declining thanks to a new water treatment plant.
