Airbus says record 2,094 planes ordered in 2023, 735 delivered
European planemaker Airbus said Thursday that it secured 2,094 net plane orders last year, a record for the group as airlines prepare for further global passenger growth and seek out more fuel-efficient planes.
The company also said that despite persistent supply chain problems it delivered 735 jets to clients last year, beating its own target of 720 deliveries.
Turkish Airlines set to order total 355 jets from Airbus
Turkish Airlines is planning to order a total of 355 planes from Airbus, according to people familiar with the talks.
Those are in addition to 10 A350-900 model jets Turkish Airlines already ordered.
This time, the flag carrier is ordering 250 A321neo aircraft, 75 A350-900, 15 A350-1000 jets as well as five A350F cargo aircraft.
Turkish Airlines’ orders for A350-900 reach 40 aircraft
Türkiye's national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, has announced a new order for 10 additional A350-900 aircraft, taking its total for the type to 40, plane maker Airbus has announced.
This latest agreement is in addition to one announced in August for four A350-900s, the company said in a statement, noting that the carrier already operates a fleet of 14 A350-900s.
Airbus cancels Qatar plane order in feud
Airbus has taken the extraordinary step of cancelling an order of 50 planes from Qatar Airways in an escalating feud over the airline's grounding of A350 aircraft.
The Qatari company, one of the Gulf region's "big three" carriers, has grounded part of its A350 fleet over degradation of exterior fuselage surfaces.

Turkish Airlines may delay delivery of Airbus, Boeing planes

The planemaking division of Airbus Group grabbed 1,036 net plane orders after cancellations, it said on Jan. 12, down 29 percent from 2014, compared with Boeing's tally of 768, a fall of 46 percent.
