Ministry announces measures to support fire-stricken region of Evros
The Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection announced on Wednesday a set of measures designed to help the people and regions devastated by the ongoing wildfires in Evros, northeastern Greece.

Firefighters were faced with 44 new forest fires in the last 24 hours, bringing to 87 the total number of wildfires throughout the country.
According to the Fire Brigade, most of the fires were dealt with in their initial stage while a large operation in Parnitha, near Athens, continues.

Gov’t vows to reforest burned areas
The government has declared that all areas burned in recent wildfires will be reforested and also agreed on measures to prevent erosion and flooding, at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Athens.
