US offshore wind power lease sale nets record $4.3 billion
Energy companies bid a record $4.37 billion on Feb. 25 for leases to develop wind power off the U.S. east coast, authorities said, after sales key to America's renewable electricity ambitions.
The six sites are in an area called the New York Bight and total 488,000 acres (197,500 hectares), making it the biggest U.S. renewable power auction ever.
Frenzy for vessels that support offshore wind operations
A new record was recorded in 2021 in the capacity of offshore wind industry, while the prospects for 2022 are also positive. Investments in new orders for newly built ships to install offshore wind turbines were also at historic highs.

Renewables produce a third of Slovenia’s electricity
Ljubljana – A third of Slovenia’s electricity output was generated with renewables last year, as renewable electricity generation rose in both the EU and Slovenia, the Statistics Office (SURS) said on Wednesday prior to the 25-29 October EU Sustainable Energy Week.

Turkey's electricity consumption increased by 12.19 percent in August compared to the same month last year, recording 32.12 billion kilowatt-hours, according to data of the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry.

Turkey’s wind power capacity exceeds 10,000 MW threshold
Turkey's installed wind energy capacity reached 10,010 megawatts (MW) as of Aug. 8, according to data Turkey's Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ) released on Aug. 10.

The country's installed electricity capacity reached 98,800 MW, while clean electricity capacity totaled 51,900 MW during the January to July period of this year.
Petrol launches its second wind farm in Croatia
Knin – Slovenian energy company Petrol has opened its second wind farm in Croatia. Ljubač, situated near the town of Knin in south Croatia, has nine turbines, which should generate around 96 gigawatts of electricity a year, covering the needs of 30,000 households.

Mytilineos: Cooperation with CIP for the development of offshore wind farms in Greece
Through the Electricity and Gas sector - Protergia, Mytilineos signed an agreement with Copenhagen Infrastructural Partners (CIP), based in Denmark, on behalf of the investment scheme "CI New Markets Fund I" for joint cooperation (CIP 60% / MYTILINEOS 40%) for the development of offshore wind farms in marine areas of Greece.
