Wave sweeps woman into sea
A German woman died Sunday when she was swept by a wave in the port of Kyparissia in western Peloponnese.
The 66-year-old woman was walking with her husband along the pier when a large wave swept her into the sea. Her body was found some 500 meters away.
Strong winds and large waves have hit the area all day Sunday.

Artwork destroyed by waves
A work by Alper Aydın, displayed in the Black Sea during his exhibition "Fata Morgana," has been destroyed by waves.
In the exhibition, which was opened to visitors last month and named after a natural phenomenon that is frequently seen in the region, one of the works in Cape Sülü in the Black Sea province of Ordu could not stand the waves of the Black Sea any longer and disappeared.

Weather Forecasters Warn about Dangerous Rip Currents
The waves will be up to 3 meters in height. A wind and a sea state warning has been issued. The waves will subside in the evening and there may be rip currents and bottom pits on Saturday-Sunday.
Weather forecasters are also warning of a serious danger of fires in the coming days.
Monstrous Ocean Wave, Eight Storeys Тall, Sets Southern Hemisphere Record
AFP Scientists have recorded what is believed to be the largest wave ever in the Southern Hemisphere, a 23.8 metre monster the height of an eight-storey building.
A buoy recorded the wave on Tuesday during a ferocious storm in the notoriously wild Southern Ocean near Campbell Island, some 700km south of New Zealand, research body MetOcean Solutions said.

The winds reached up to 8 Beaufort, causing serious problems in shipping. As can be seen in the video huge waves were hitting ships in the stormy waters.
Mini tsunami hits Netherlands beach (video)
Footage has emerged of a mini tsunami hitting the coast of The Netherlands catching beachgoers off guard with a seven foot tidal wave.
According to local media, the phenomenon is so rare that it is the first time it has been so well filmed and documented.
The first reports of an approaching tidal wave of a medium height were at around 5.45am on Monday morning.
