The annual Oenorama wine show opened on Saturday at the capital's Zappeio Hall. Considered the world's leading exhibition of Greek wine, the event has been organized annually in Athens since 1994. An important date for professionals, Oenorama is also an opportunity for Greek consumers to meet producers and sample their goods.

At first glance, 2017 was a stellar year for French champagne, with 307 million bottles sold for a record 4.9 billion euros ($6.0 billion) - but many of those growing the grapes see little to celebrate.

The Cellier wine and spirits store is hosting a series of tastings that focus on specific countries and regions. On Wednesday, February 28, the country of honor is Chile, one of the great forces in New World wines, and sommelier Stavros Moustakas Oktapodas will be on hand with descriptions, history and tips. The event starts at 9 p.m.

More than 3 times the export of Bulgarian wine was reduced from 2006 to 2016. In 2006 our country exported 112 845 thousand liters and ten years later - 31 411 thousand liters. This shows statistics of the National Statistical Institute .

A decline has also been reported in imports, with 12,589,000 liters of wine imported in Bulgaria in 2006 and 73,111,000 liters in 2016.

From retsina to Assyrtiko wine, from the neighborhood taverna to major New York restaurants and from local papers to glowing articles in the New York Times, over the past decade Greek wine has made great strides in terms of international recognition.

Traditional foods, gourmet delicacies and fusion culinary will be presented by the participants in the FoodTech 2018 exhibition, which will take place from February 21 to 25 at the International Fair in Plovdiv. This was announced by the press center of the exhibition.
