The celebration of St Martin's Day is a symbolic conclusion of the works in vineyards and presentation of winemakers and their must and young wines.

The events are taking place not only in wine-growing areas, but also elsewhere in Slovenia, with various associations and restaurants organising social, ethnologic and sport events.

Slovenian wines are recognised as high-quality and the country should use this to help build its recognition, Dušan Brejc, the head of Vinska družba, an organisation connecting leading winemakers, has told the STA.

TOPOLA - The first Sumadija wine festival will be held at the royal winery at Oplenac on May 17-18, stated the Association of Winemakers of Sumadija, the region in central Serbia.
