200 million females estimated to be circumcised

The U.N. children’s agency estimates that at least 200 million girls and women in 30 countries have undergone female circumcision.

According to a statistical report released on Thursday by UNICEF, the global figure includes nearly 70 million more girls and women than estimated in 2014 due to population growth and new data received from Indonesia.

Greek aquaculture to double by 2030 in fish wars with Turkey

Greece hopes to double its aquaculture production by 2030 in order to successfully compete with Turkey. The Federation of Greek Maricultures (FGM) reports that aqua production volumes could reach 235,000 metric tons in 15 years’ time, an amount that would be valued at €1.2 billion.
