Over 50,000 work permits issued to foreigners in Serbia last year
BELGRADE - Over 50,000 work permits were issued to foreign workers in Serbia last year, and the majority of them were Russians, the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia said on its website, quoting figures released by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Veteran and Social Affairs.
Strategic choice
The Greek economy currently needs workers, especially in sectors such as agriculture, where the shortages are great.
The logical option would be to give work permits to foreigners, many of whom are already working in the country as undeclared laborers.

Amendment tabled granting work permits for some 30,000 irregular migrants
Greece's Migration Ministry tabled on Friday an amendment to a Labor Ministry bill which foresees granting a three-year stay and work permit to migrants who have entered Greece irregularly and reside in the country.

Gov't adopts bills amending legislation on residence and employment of foreigners
BELGRADE - The Serbian government on Thursday adopted bills amending the Law on Foreigners and the Law on Employment of Foreigners.
An official statement released after a government session said the move would enable foreign nationals to attain the right to temporary residence and work in Serbia through a unified procedure.

Brnabic: Foreigners act to be amended in March
BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Tuesday she expected amendments to the Foreigners Act to enter parliamentary procedure in March.
Speaking to reporters at a ceremony at the Aviation Academy, Brnabic said the amended act would unify working and residence permits in a simplified, fully electronic procedure.
That will enable easier and quicker employment, she added.

Some foreigners can now work in Türkiye without work permit
Foreign athletes, farmers and researchers will be able to work in Türkiye for a determined period without a need to obtain a work permit, Labor and Social Security Ministry has announced.
The employment regulation aiming to facilitate foreigners to work in Türkiye without a work permit has come into force.
Amended act on employment of foreigners passed
Ljubljana – The National Assembly passed on Friday amendments to the act on employment, self-employment and work of foreigners which transpose a major 2016 EU directive.
The directive sets down the conditions of entry and residence of third-country citizens for the purposes of research, studies, pupil exchange, remunerated and unremunerated training, voluntary service and au pairing.

The language barrier is one of the main problems for the recruitment of workers from outside the European Union (EU) in our country.
