Almost half of workers fear being sacked in near future

Four in 10 working Greeks are afraid of losing their jobs, according to the latest Randstad Workmonitor survey for the July-September period of 2016, as 40 percent of men and 39 percent of women consider it very likely that they will be fired or their contract will not be renewed in the next six months.

Small Business (GSEVEE) pessimistic on economy for next 6-months

The Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen & Merchants (GSEVEE) released a study that paints a bleak picture of small businesses in Greece for the next 6 months. According to the findings it is estimated that 138,000 jobs will be lost, adding to the 25,000 jobless in the industry so far. Furthermore, a 20% drop in turnover is expected over the same period.
