Romanian women are leading in the EU in terms of being actively involved in the traditionally male-dominated fields of science, math, and computing, World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva stated in a speech delivered at the National University for Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), the World Bank informed in a Thursday release.

President Klaus Iohannis welcomed World Bank Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kristalina Georgieva at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Wednesday, with the WB official emphasising the crucial importance of the rule of law institutions and investment in human capital in terms of the economic development of a country.

The World Bank chose Bulgaria for its future outsourced Shared Services Center, where 275 people will be recruited for up to five years. The government press service announced today that the Council of Ministers has supported the intention, quoted by Econ.bg

In a surprise move, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim on Monday announced that he will step down from his position on February 1 much before the end of his term in 2022.

Kim, 58, has been in this position for over six years now.
