IFC supports new tram line in Antalya in bid to strengthen public transport

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has said it is helping finance a new tram line in Antalya, Turkey’s fifth-largest urban center, as part of an effort to help municipal authorities improve public transport and build a sustainable city.

The World Bank Group and Turkey have renewed their partnership with the introduction of a new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) with a substantial amount of financing line late in August.

The 2018-2021 CPF for Turkey focuses on three core areas: Growth, inclusion and sustainability, read a World Bank Group statement, which was released on Aug. 30. 

IMF's Lipton said progress made on Greece

A top official at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Tuesday there had been progress on Greece and the Fund would like to get to a situation where it could help Greece.

"Some progress has been made," David Lipton, first deputy managing director of the IMF, told reporters in Berlin. "We would like to be in a position to help Greece," he added.
