Delo warns against misinterpretation of macroeconomic figures
Ljubljana – The newspaper Delo warns in Saturday’s commentary against misinterpretation of macroeconomic indicators before election, noting that rather than boasting with figures politicians should offer solutions for the future.
The OECD is Starting Negotiations with Bulgaria and Five other Countries
The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) announced late Tuesday that it was starting talks with Bulgaria and five other countries on joining the club of rich countries, Reuters reported.
The other countries are Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Romania, and Croatia.

Turkish treasury and finance minister joins G20 meeting in US
Turkey's Treasury and Finance Minister Lutfi Elvan said on Oct. 14 he participated in a G20 ministerial meeting in the US.
"We have discussed global inflation pressures, recent increase in commodity prices and rising global debt at the meeting," Elvan wrote on Twitter.
Slovenia, Australia to talk double taxation avoidance deal
Canberra – Slovenia and Australia will start negotiations to conclude an agreement on avoidance of double taxation next year, the Slovenian Embassy in Canberra has announced.
Announcing the negotiations, the embassy said on Wednesday that such an agreement would have a positive influence on the volume of economic cooperation between the countries, especially in investments.
OECD: Global Recovey Prospects Are Unneven but Europe's Outlook Is Rising
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) issued a warning saying that the "uneven" global economic recovery provokes worse forecasts related to global economy. OECD lowered its 2021 growth forecasts for the world, including pessimistic expectations about US. Still the Organisation raised the outlook for Europe, EPA reported.
Slovenia’s goods exports in June up 21% year-on-year
Ljubljana, 9 August – Slovenia exported EUR 3.3 billion in goods in June, which is 21% more year-on-year, while imports were up by 30.6% to EUR 3.4 billion, the Statistics Office reported on Monday.
In June, a deficit in trade was recorded for a third month in a row, standing at EUR 100 million, with exports covering imports at a rate of 97.5%.
World Bank provided $1.5 bln in financing to Turkey
The World Bank said on July 15 that it extended financing worth $1.5 billion for five critical development projects during Fiscal Year 2021.
Recalling that the country fought the impacts of COVID-19, the bank said the financial support contributed to the implementation of Turkey's 11th National Development Plan as laid out in the Bank's Country Partnership Framework.

Turkish exports break records in June, first half of year
Turkey saw record high exports in both June and the first half of 2021 thanks to the country's strong performance since the beginning of this year, the trade minister announced on July 2.
Turkish exports reached $19.8 billion in June, up 47% from the same month last year, Mehmet Muş said, citing preliminary foreign trade figures.
