World Trade Organization cuts 2015 global trade growth outlook

Global commerce is expected to grow just 3.3 percent this year, the World Trade Organization said on April 14, slashing its previous forecast of 4.0 percent over weak global economic growth and rising geopolitical tensions.

The trade body also said preliminary estimates showed trade had expanded just 2.8 percent last year, missing September's forecast of 3.1 percent.

Even traditional Turkish carpets made in China, says Economy Minister

 Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci has said Turkey imports almost everything, even traditional Turkish carpets, while noting the steps the ministry has taken to safeguard domestic industry. 

"Even traditional Turkish carpets are made in China. If we import even sickles used in agricultural production, we are over the line...We need to reverse this trend," he said. 

Atanas Paparizov Elected Head of Bulgaria's Permanent Mission to WTO

The government has elected Atanas Paparizov head of Bulgaria's Permanent Mission to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Bulgaria's Permanent Mission to the WTO was established in 1996 within the framework of of Permanent Mission of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.
