Tsakalotos: If Regling were my student I would fail him

Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos has slammed ESM Managing Director Klaus Regling after the latter said that the tactics of former finance minister Yannis Varoufakis cost Greece 100 billion euros.
In an interview with Open TV late Thursday, Tsakalotos denounced Regling's allegations as groundless, adding that if he were his student, he would fail him.

Yanis Varoufakis, leader of the Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 (DiEM25), on Wednesday attacked Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras for suggesting during an interview with ERT state broadcaster Tuesday that his ex finance minister was ready to cooperate with his nemesis, ex German finance minister Wolfgang Schaeuble.

Varoufakis attributes SYRIZA losses to 'inconsistencies of last 4 years'

Commenting on the losses suffered by leftist SYRIZA in Sunday's local and regional authority runoffs, former finance minister Yanis Varoufakis attributed it to "inconsistencies" in its stances.

"SYRIZA never had deep roots in local government. But it chiefly paid for the inconsistencies of the past four years," Varoufakis told Skai.
